100 VISIONS
Hi and welcome!
My name is Anya Pallamreddy and I am fifteen years old, my sister, Riya Pallamreddy, is twelve years old and we are in the ninth and seventh grades.
We love people. We are interested in the way people live, their lifestyles, their behavioral impacts but most of all the stories and experiences they are willing to share with us.
There is something about the way different people live their lives and the reasons behind significant decisions they take that particularly intrigue us.
And it is because of this recently acquired interest that our liking of the topic of migrants in our city started. We’ve grown up surrounded by people from different parts of the world and we’ve always wondered about what they go through when they decide to leave families, friends and so much more behind to travel to an alien city and settle down there.
We’ve always wanted to do a project relating to this curiosity of ours, something that created an impact but also something we loved doing. What better way to do this than start a project on migrants in Bangalore and share with everyone the struggles they face, key motives behind decisions that changed their lives, memorable experiences and events that played a pivotal role in their lives?
And so came about “100 Visions”, an immigrant project started by us to create awareness and share with people the different stories of migrants here in Bangalore. We are doing this to let people who are considering relocating here know what to expect. We also, in a way, aim to bring the exemplary community of migrants in Bangalore together in such a way that they can share their experiences and opinions together with one another.
We interview different migrants from different parts of the world and understand their take on life here in Bangalore. We then put together the information we collect such as photographs, memories, significant occurrences, etc. in the form of blog posts and present them to you, so that you too can acquire a knowledge about the different lives people lead and the sacrifices they make in order to enjoy the fruits of life, and hopefully, you too, like us, will generate a special love and curiosity on the same topic so that you can also do something to create an impact.
Enjoy and thank you for visiting!
Anya and Riya Pallamreddy.
